apparently a large electricity sub station between Bunbury and Australind just went bang...large power shortages in Bunbury and surrounds. Smoke everywhere and ashes falling from the sky...

Majority of appliances in Greater Bunbury area in attendance. Just heard this off a mate, not actually on a scanner.

It was out at Picton to the east of Bunbury, we first saw it from the CBD around 1640. Power out from around 1700.

Power back on in East Bunbury 1910, That was some of the blackest smoke I've seen in a while.

Wasnt a third alarm but I think it was decent enough to put here.

2nd alarm structure fire - 80 Sayer St, Midland.

Midland, Bassendean, SET, Western Power, 3 x SJA, SJA Team Leader, WAPOL, DM West Coastal, FIO and "The Force" in attendance

00:45am - Call to structure fire with possible life envolvement

Midland arrive a rescue 1 person, 1 still inside with house fully engulfed

Second person pulled from house unconcious. He was revived and put in hands of SJA

A few kittens also rescued from the fire

FIO could not determine cause and will be returning in the morning

$150,000 damage and 2 (possibly 3) taken to hospital

AMAZING job by the firefighters in attendance who definately saved at least 1 life last night

Check the news tonight for more pics/info or The Force in about a years time...

4th alarm structural fire at South East Metropolitan Recycling Centre, Bannister Rd, Canningvale around 1am this morning. Not to sure the exact shifts as i attended on Jandakot LT2 after 4am in the morning:

FRS

Fremantle 1st? Pump / LT
Fremantle CLP
Welshpool 1st? Pump / LT
Canningvale Pump / LT

BFS

Jandakot 9.2
Jandakot LT2
South Coogee 2.4
South Coogee LT

Us bushies were called in at 4:13am to protect outlying bush around the site for any debris thrown up when the structure collapsed. The structure was still standing as of 7:00am although totally gutted and millions dollars worth of damage ( Sorry, didn't get any photos.... ). We were stood down not long after this.

8:30 - 9:00 FRS calling in more units from Midland, Daglish and crew change from Welshpool.

9:05 Jandakot 9.2 returning to C/Vale
