I speak for myself here - but sure everyone else agrees - SES, FESA, WAPOL and SJA - all do a FAB job during these sort of storms....

SEVERE WEATHER WARNING
for Locally Destructive Winds
For people in the Southwest, Lower West and Central West districts including the
Perth metropolitan area, Mandurah, Bunbury, Busselton and Geraldton.
Issued at 5:30 am on Friday 27 July 2007
The passage of a cold front during today may cause locally destructive wind
gusts in excess of 125 kilometres per hour. Strong winds may develop about the
Southwest Capes during this morning and extend throughout the warning area this
afternoon and evening.
Thunderstorms and locally heavy rain are also possible with the passage of the
front.
The FESA - State Emergency Service advises that people should secure loose items
and stay indoors when strong winds develop. Boat owners should ensure that small
craft are securely moored. Driving conditions will be hazardous.
The next warning will be issued by 11:00 am Friday.
This warning is also available through TV and Radio broadcasts; the Bureau's

Their issued all the time. Its the bom special services area that we get the really good infomation from. Rockingham use SES ch18 on 467.725Mhz. This is a simplex chan. You will hear base not mobiles unless they are close to you.
