Digital radio frequency

Post by robbage »

For what it's worth, here's the first DRM frequency to go ofiicially online in Australia (commerical digital radio). It's in Perth. Two licences I could find. 1.54MHz bandwidth!

Don't expect to hear audio with your scanner though. Starts first thing tomorrow morning apparently. Compatible radios can be bought at DSE (and somewhere else.. anybody hear where?) Make sure you get the latest generation; the first gen radios won't work. Thanks to the WARG net and VK6BMW for the info.

I believe Harvey Norman are selling the radios too.

Make sure the radio is DAB+, not just DAB. The UK uses DAB so units imported from there probably won't work.

There's also a bunch of info here
