Foxtel

Post by Rockjet »

Just had Foxtel IQ connected today, amazing what it can do. Love watching Seinfeld so I have set it up to record each episode and if an episode repeats it wont record it a second time, all this by pushing just 2 buttons. Its come along way since the old Galaxy pay tv. I had free installation, first month free, $104 per month for Platinum (all channels).

Very happy customer

If you have cable rather than satellite you can IQ free to air channels as well.

They are launching a new channel (406) in December called Showcase. They just sent me a new iTouch with preview episodes of Dexter (which is brilliant - I'm hooked), The Riches (I'm currently watching ep 1 but it looks good) and Satisfaction (about a brothel - haven't started watching that yet) preloaded. Seems like a good bonus channel!

EDIT : P.S. I've never had an iPod or iAnything before - these things rock!

I've got it too. Very handy for all the reasons you've said. Also makes shelling out $70+ a month more palatable because you can schedule stuff to record when it's on and watch it when you want to, not when it airs.

Now all we need is channel 7 to hurry up with their Tivo deal...

Oh, and did I mention that you can jump onto the Foxtel site and get your box at home to start a recording remotely...? :-)

How?
Register on foxtel.com.au -> TV Guide

When you register, put in your Account number in and it will link your TV Guide account to your Foxtel account, so you can click and record programs on your IQ from the Internet.

It's not a well-publicised feature...
