This is our new BF III Falcon (replacing a previous model).

Note the new sign writing. Larger and bolder and without the words "and Current Affairs".

Channel 10 Perth has recently dispensed with its "wrap around" art work and signage on its Link Cruiser. They have opted to return to the more subtle styling of plain and simple logos.

Here is a look at the new Channel 7 link van. Fully digital and based on a Mercedes van, taking most of the work from (and eventually replacing) the Holden Suburban. The networks are moving away from the older style 4WD units to the 'van' type vehicles. The ABC is waiting on delivery of it's new link van based on a Volkswagen van (to replace it's ageing Toyota Landcruiser) and Channel 10 are planning to replace their Toyota Landcruiser with a new van, possibly Mercedes.

Saw the new ABC-TV links van yesterday in the ABC car park - nice looking vehicle, still got NSW number plates. News/CAff Production Manager tells me she's arranging to have 'squiggles' applied. I suggested she might also like to get it registered in WA at some stage.

That would be it. Note the NSW rego plates still on. Compared to the early 1980s Channel Seven 'NewsCruiser' Bedford van from my era, there's no comparison. A compact, low-key links van that's easy to park is the way to go.

I expect this one was a little before "your era" Steve
