Tonight's news, including a Channel Seven exclusive, a wanted man is pulled over at gun point after reports that he was holding people hostage in his vehicle. Note Police vehicle ARxxx being a new FG XR6T with a partial LED lightbar.

Re: News videos in here (YouTube)
Why are there so many accidents in WA, 200 people died so far this year from a TEN News report? Are WA roads very safe, I'm shocked that such a large number of people die?

Re: News videos in here (YouTube)
I don't think it's that surprising to be honest. Look at the populations of the two states - just under half a million people for Tasmania, just over two million people for WA.Robb wrote:Why are there so many accidents in WA, 200 people died so far this year from a TEN News report? According to this report, the five-year average for road fatalities in Tasmania is 50 per year. The five years from 2002-2006 in WA, there have been an average of 180 fatalities according to the Office of Road Safety WA.
Looking on population alone, without taking into account other factors such as number of cars on the road, the number of kilometres of roadways in the two states, or anything else:
2.1 million people (WA), divided by 500,000 people (Tas) = 4.2 (population ratio)
50 crashes per year (Tas) multiplied by the population ration of 4.2 = 210
Actual crash average in WA over a similar period = 180.
So if you look at it that way, it puts the numbers a little more into perspective...

On a related note that new HP car looks excellent. I've seen a few FG's doing the rounds. Theirs a nice white UC doing the rounds in SE metro.

Good point, just a lot of people die on the roads each year.

Yorky, do you still have a copy of the Heath Ledger Story at the opening of ten news?
