Do the old style red light cameras (without speed camera) still issue infringements? I thought I read sometime ago they were no longer operational.

The one that used to be on Canning Highway and Henley St was damaged ages ago and I noticed it has recently been replaced with the same older style red light camera box.

Back in the day it was not guaranteed that there was a camera in them and some were just dummies. So the only way to find out is if you actually see someone trigger it. I would guess that some still work but can't confirm that.

I've recently seen a set of Redflex cameras facing the wrong way the the Leach Hwy x Stock Road intersection - Are they just speed cameras, or red light too?

Is it a yellow or grey one? The grey ones track truck movements only.

I'm pretty sure it was a grey one - makes sense if it was, as Leach Hwy is a major truck route.

They look like they only pick traffic on one direction, as it was pointing away from the intersection.

Does any one know what band they work on?

Also the police have those new hand held's that record video, do they use a Band like their older brothers or not?
I thought they were laser, not radar like the old ones?
Seems we were all wrong, they operate off the loops in the road, the two loops can determined your speed when you drive over them, each lane has its own set of loops so Thats how they can pin point one driver if two are in the picture.
