it would depend which station they are coming from. Normally they dont have a specific car they use. From memory any offices such as the commisioner or similar use the alpha alpha call sign. Back when we could pick up analogue i only heard the alpha alpha call sign once and that was on australia day a couple of years ago

Back when the 4cyl vehicles were trialling WRX/Astra the commish stated that he would start driving one himself as his company car, no idea if he has or not though.

Here in NSW each Command each shift has a Duty Officer, Station Supervisor and Mobile Supervisor rostered on. They have there own vehicle and callsign and are typically heard on air attending jobs, mainly major incidents or when requested by a car crew for advice. I was just curious where the supervisor and DO come from in WAPOL, where a crew needs advice and requests a supervisor, or when there is a critical incident where an Inspector is needed. Do they come from the same station as the car crew or are they some sort of reqional or specific area resource.

Cheers.

People can shoot me down if I am wrong, but isnt it the case if an officer is on the road and comes across x situation a phone call is placed to his/her immediate sarge, or the station officer in charge?

I suppose it would vary depending on what the incident is about. Sure if it's minor like pocket rockets on the road or persons in a trailer supporting a fridge then in those situations a phone call was chosen, but I think if it's urgent it would probably (to be confirmed by a WAPOL member) be easier and quicker to jump on the radio and just tell VKI what's happening then the on duty person there can arrange for dispatch of appropriate resources.
