Gosh what is this now, the 3rd? 4th time that a new chopper has been "announced"? At this rate the current one will need to fall out of the sky before a new one arrives #-o

Although if they are finally getting there act together, top stuff :D

I can tell you: if those are the specs... its not a Bell 412 ;)

Bell 412 cant break 226 Km/Hr - and will be dry before hitting 700 Km :)

Compared to their Current Chopper: 278Km/Hr limit, and 685 Km range

Just because you can't imagine it happening doesn't mean they shouldn't plan for it, bearing in mind that's what they need to do when purchasing expensive equipment such as a chopper. While it's unlikely to happen there may occur a hostage situation where an airborne sniper is handy to provide assurance even if he doesn't fire off a single round.

If only there was somewhere in Perth where they could safely practise sniping from a chopper.

Either that or they need a calculator.

Airborne sniper practice. Perhaps they could practice it at an ADF (Australian Defence Force - Army, Navy, Air Force) range/training area somewhere. There should be a few near Perth.

I'd assume they work very closely with ADF special forces. But that's just an assumption/opinion. Was just commenting on robbage's post about if only they had somewhere to practice.
