I wouldn't go on saying what it mentioned without proof of them saying this, several articles I've now read do not state anything about making them private.

It will probably happen purely for the fact that it's hard to find operators especially in regional centres. Take for instance the Mid West based Multanova. It has been out of action for months. Why? Because the job is used as a stop-gap by people before they find something else. The two operators they did have, and have recently replaced, both went on to other roles within the State Gov't - one to Prisons infact.

It's back on-line now with two new operators but for months it was out of action - even was staffed by sworn officers at one point during busy periods...
