Isn't the fixed wing Polair 64? I seem to remember... or maybe I'm imagining.

What do people make of this ? Looks like the two Police helicopters escorting a Cessna type plane over the CBD.

Police choppers grounded as pilots quit
WA's two police helicopters have been grounded since Saturday after the sudden resignation of two senior pilots, leaving the State without eyes in the sky for chases, patrols and searches.

Police want faster choppers
WA Police are looking at buying “more nimble” and “manoeuvrable” helicopters better suited to high-speed chases.

It comes as senior police begin discussions on a replacement for the ageing twin-engine Kawasaki BK117, known as PolAIR 61.

Bought in 1990 and known as “the eye in the sky”, the helicopter is widely regarded as nearing the end of its life.

Police Commissioner Karl O'Callaghan said a second helicopter, the Eurocopter Dauphin, which was bought in 2011, would be retained but it was better suited to special operations such as rescue missions.
