Volkswagen Jetta

Post by Ausrob »

Since when do Police use unmarked Volkswagens? They pulled over a guy in gosnells today (unmarked, plain clothes) and were searching his car for what I assume where drugs and then getting under the car (Toyota Hilux SR5) recent model.

Dad mentioned to me once before that some colleagues had been pulled over after they'd driven past a car with a mining/construction hard hat on the rear parcel shelf.

Yes, I have seen the car you mention with the hard hat... a silk/silver BF Falcon. Surprised they didnt notice all the antennas on the back of it.

Seen a fair few unmarked Subaru Imprezas around. Very nice looking machine, but arent the WRX's manual only?
Also noticed more Commodores and Falcons now fitted with factory mag wheels instead of the steelies.

I know Vicpol use a variety of cars such as VW Golf, Territory Turbo and SV6 Ute, but never heard of such cars being used in WA. They'd certainly catch more hoons on the roads!

This incident was a while ago, and from my recollection of the story happened in the evening...not everyone goes antenna hunting.

best unmarked car i have seen was a white BF XR6T.... Had reallly dark tint, a very large FORD sticker across the back window, a BABY ON BOARD sign stuck on the back window and those stick on sunshades on the rear door windows.... to me it just looked like another bogan XR6... but then the parcel shelf LED came on followed by a hand popping out the window to stick the magnetic light on the roof and he pulled over the guy infront of him.... also noticed they had a dashmat covering the deckblaster...

haha ok ok.. in that case lets forget i said it looked like 'another bogan XR6'. I thought it was a great example of trying to make unmarked cars less noticable..

I bet the guy who was pulled over by it was a tad confused at first haha.
