Vehicle Markings

Post by SteveNSWP »

Just a quick question,

I've noticed lately that vehicle markings for WA Police have changed. I've seen a few GD's sedans and caged trucks with a different style of markings. They seem to have a chequer band that runs up the back of the car boardered by orange markings obviously for visibility. Im just wondering are there markings just for special or particular vehicles or are they new markings that are being rolled out statewide for all marked vehicles?

Cheers,

Steve.

Orange striping is, from what I have observed, mainly for district traffic vehicles and Traffic Enforcement Group. Red striping is predominantly for UQ vehicles and Major Crash.

Not seen too many others with orange or red striping.

Thanks for the replies guys? I like the markings actually, very refreshing a different. They should just have the entire fleet go over to the markings but then cost i guess. We used to have different markings here in nsw, then the fleet went to chequerband, I dunno why because it cost *#@!loads and the markings before were fine. I think they just wanted to mark them in the national livery, but now all the other states are adopting their own markings anyways, QLD and VIC have changed and I think SA have also changed there's so yeah, a bit of useless info!!

Anyways cheers for the replies!!

I've noticed in the past week that there is a WT20x VE Omega sedan at the Academy with the UQ markings and I then saw a new UQ VE sportswagon with normal g/d's markings!
