For us who are pulling double shifts thanks to a serious virus making the rounds, just what exactly is Tadis Lite? I presume it is a portable unit??? carried by officers?

Some chaps in the UK have a portable 'Lantern' finger print scanner too which could work wonders here as well. Though of course it all comes down to $$$.

But anyway these units look exactly the same as what modern couriers use, obviously just with a different software set, it even has the barcode laser mounted on the front by the looks!

yeah looks more like a blackberry though than a courier's scanner, but similar to theirs, though more features.

I inspected AAE's (Australian Air Express) handheld scanner this morning, and low and behold it looks EXACTLY the same as shown in the report 8)

May be a slightly different model (the buttons are in the exact same spots though) but its essentially the same device with different software. One of the couriers software on another similar device simply runs WindowsCE.

we have the same device at work for scanning our freight on board our trucks has all the same features they just different software installed and manufactured by symbol not cheap to replace about $4000 each unit the only bad thing is the battery don’t last very long a few hours if that
