And the first frequency you listed in the old Ch26, not a district.

EDIT: Appears I looked up the wrong one.

Well lets call it Midland district if you want to get technical.468.750 is the frequncy i recieved. Not the channels or district.Yes i know ch26 was not a district channel. It was used for one on one talking or special events.I didnt use channel numbers because you cant listern too metro police on these channels any more.So ch 1-62 are no longer used in the metro area.Maybe they still use these channels if the digital network fails them.Back up.Sorry for the missunder standing.

Good find. I found out about it, too.

Looks like VKI have kept the entire analogue network working and available, just the magic switch linking them into the digital network is off.

Curious isn't it what you manage to hear if you're in the right place at the right time.

I wonder when the analogue network will be officially "dismantled" as opposed to "switched off"...

I found their was some times a country car in the metro area at these times. If that was the case and the car was not equipped with digital radio yet.Would the district have revert back to analouge while that car was their area?

That's a good question.

I don't think they're going to completely abandon the 64 channel UHF range. (after all, a natural disaster was the reason why they implemented it in the first place)

I suspect that on the odd occasion country cars visit Perth, they'd probably call VKI analogue (probably on ch26) and a new talk group could be set up for whatever op the country car is here for, linking the digital talk group and the analogue repeater. Or, all the vehicles in the op just use the nearest available unlinked analogue repeater. They don't necessarily have to link back analogue repeaters to the corresponding area's digital talk group.

Your first message made perfect sense. I heard the frequency being used as well. I've also heard four other frequencies from the old analogue being used at various times

468.750 is ch37 not 26 (468.475 and a fixed repeater)if my memory serves me right. From memory also it is a special event channel and is/was ambulatory. I have seen/heard the repeater installed in aircraft and used to provide coverage for bikie runs, watching over the Queen when she came to Oz and other special (in particular country) events. :)

Richard, did your first post firstly contain 468.475 before an edit or was I imagining it?
