Subiaco Station closing

Post by written_ficton »

Reported in the local rag that Subiaco may be closing of next year with officers transfering across to an already crowded Wembly station with the overflow being housed in portable demountables......

Local council's are lobbying to have the station remain, with most officers having a stong community aspect. Subiaco is well position to deal with local complaints especially the coffee strip in subiaco and the subiaco games.

Only moving the officers to wembly is only going to increase response timeS?

Maybe in the short term but perhaps not when the super station in Northbridge is finished. If the railway line is also sunk it would provide better access from Northbridge to Subi.

Yes I was commenting as if the Subiaco Station was permanently closed. I apologise for not making it more clear.

What's the point of closing down so many stations? Nedlands, Claremont, Inglewood, Leederville and soon Subiaco and Wembley. Isn't easier to have a few stations rather than the one central Western Suburbs Police Station?

Subiaco Station has now closed with officers now housed in Wembly. Such a small station with 10 cars operating out. Must be packed like sardines!

Generally, vehicles from decomissioned stations will change call-signs to the station they are transferred to. It would be fair to assume that the Subiaco vehicles that are moved to Wembley wil become GW call-signs.

I'm pretty sure that they are doing that on purpose. Flooding it initially. This is what they did with the new entertainment complex.
