Lightbars!

Post by SteveNSWP »

I've noticed that WA use various lightbars on their police vehicles. Some seem to have the vector lightbars, others the hazard 20 Series or even the Code3 MX7000.

Im just wondering what factors decide which car will get what type of lightbar? IE here in NSW GD's have the Hazard 90 Series Lightbar and Highway have the Code 3 MX7000. We were all supposed to have the MX7000 but I think they have scrapped it due to the expense.

Just wondering why WA dont just use one type of lightbar??? Which is the most common Lightbar used by WAPOL?

Regards,

Steve.

The GD car usually have the hazard LB due to cost, although ive seen a few Code 3 excallaber bars around, and the highway patrol/traffic cars use Vector bars, because they are a better, higher visabillity light bar

LED lightbars are making an appearance (eg Traffic Enforcement Group). I guess cost is the main factor in them taking time to be embraced.

MX7000 are predominantly being used by K9 units presently.
