not picking up transmissions

Post by Warnbro »

Hi guys,
Am an older chook with a police scanner, wonder if anyone can through any light on why I suddenly cannot pick up transmissions from tasking vehicles to VKI. I only monitor the Rockingham through Freo channels.
I can still get the cars in the Mandurah area, but not the above, anyone know whats going on. Thanks

Your answer may be here. It is possibly the end of metro analogue.

More than likely, as has been stated in a number of other threads, the Police have changed over to digital in the area and your scanner won't be able to hear them.

Okay thanks guys that explains it then. It was on all night at my place,I liked the security it gave me, living alone, as I got to hear if there were any nasties hanging around my area, sod them. Why couldnt they just licence them and not let the ratbags own them, would have been simpler if you ask me, Maybe they didnt think of that.
Hopefully, some mastermind will find a way around this.

Rumour. Media will get access to MATCAD which is a text-based, delayed delivery, information system.

Pretty normal, actually.

I think the towies will be the hardest hit. They're going to have to pay a spotter for a larger number of their jobs now.
