Carrying any sort of gun, replica, starting pistol sword, knife, etc is totally illegal, are all classified as a potential weapon.
Even Schools no longer are allowed Starting Pistols, they use electronic equipment for starting a race etc.

Colt .45 is not 9mm. .45 inch = 11.43 mm. The 9 mm projectile is closer to .38. The .45 casing and bullet is much larger and more powerful than a 9mm.

Hi Night-ryder,
I'd be careful who would see or know about it too. Too many crims want these sorts of items and use it for the wrong reasons. Not sure what you want blanks for it. Have you thought about joining a ligit Gun Club?

Yea, I have already started my 6 month probation with a gun club. I bought the blank fire model so I can get familiar with the basic inner workings of the hand gun before I am actually eligible to purchase a real one (and yes I know I cant buy a .45 at the very start...I already have a .22 revolver I am planning to get).

Also, it brings about another question. Why are these things so easy to buy...? All they did was write down my DL number and get my phone number. Whats stopping crims from getting these and robbing someone. Nothing.

At least its more strict than in the US where every man and his dog has one.
"VKI, NJ050 will you be attending the job?"
"Negative VKI, my desk is bolted to the floor".

If you are unsure then call the Firearms Branch to seek clarification. I would rather be sure you can have it than get caught with it and have your licence cancelled and never be able to legitimately own a firearm.

If it is able to be modified in anyway to fire a missile or projectile then I guess it would be classified as a firearm and need to be licenced in some way.

But firearms aint my forte.

Speaking of weapons.. what's the deal with archery equipment? I have a very large area at work (at least 500m in 270°) and everything I need to make targets. Do I have to be in an archery club? (somebody told me this) and am I restricted to designated areas? You can buy compound bows second-hand in Cash-Cons so I assume you don't need a firearms licence :-)
