Quite possibly - along with knobbly seat cover and fluffy steering wheel cover. Unless it was rescue 65.

Well a few weeks back when it was first announced it was grounded and a loaner was going to be used, there was definitely another aircraft used (different sound, had the FLIR and Nightsun attached and working).

No idea what it was though as it was night.

Heard Rescue 65 heading to Rottnest earlier tonight - could have been that?

Rescue 65 does have a search light so it's likely that.

That would have been it - it returned to Jandakot though.

WAPOL spend money and lease something........more chance of seeing santa in his sleigh with a FLIR than the department leasing another chopper.

65 is based at Jandakot aswell near RFDS.

As munchy said - Rescue 65 base is no where near RFDS hangers - its located closer to Runway 24R/06L (EASTERN END)

yep,

wapol have got another chopper on standby its an AS350 squirel but there not using it for patroling or anything it will only be flown by wapol when a police emergency happens.

polair 61 the kawasaki bk117 b2 helicopter is currrently still undergoing its major overhaul with new blades rotor head and the new b2 engines getting serviced but even when its ready for flying again wapol are still deciding on whether to leave it in the hangar and sell it and get 2 new helicopters at the moment wapol want to get the service finished so they can organise what to do.
