WAPOL Fequencies Still Alive?

Hi guys,

First post (obvious eh?) to these forums. Wanted to know if the old WAPOL channels (eg 468.025) still work as I cant afford a digital unit ATM so might look at an old(or new) BearCat. Heard lots of talk about encryption etc but just wondering if/when they will stop using the old freqs, if indeed they still are.

Yes thankfully the normal channels are still operational. No word on full digital/turning off analogue as there is possibly still testing and county cars don't have digital I believe.

EDIT: So basically there is no idea how long they will stay up, I wouldn't buy a high end scanner and digital scanners are almost $1k and with encryption you can't hear anyway (if/when encryption is turned on).

bad news, south east metro and south metro have fully changed over as of this weekend, and i beleive the rest are less than a month away

anyone heard anything differently?

all of these channel frequencies were dead up till 1am? so i dunno?
(analog channel with digital signal)

You'll most likely find when its 'dead' is that its just dead quiet. Even on the drive to work this morning scanning 50/21/34 there was only like 1 job and 1 person booking on heading in.

Remember with TADIS and mobile phones to IMU and all that jazz radio traffic is already cut bigtime as per that article about the new systems.
