Priority Pursuit=Max 140Kms, qualified drivers used for pursuits.
Priority 1= Max 140Km speed, qualifed drivers only (CD vehicls mainly).

The speed limit is enforced my the Police Officers themselves, speed cameras, VKI can track by Time/distance.

Inspectors are responsible at the end of the day.

The COPS Manual states that the maximum speed for any urgent duty driving is 140. I know this as a fact and if it is the case that you saw police going faster how did you know they were going faster than 140.

The Cops Manual is the Commisioners Orders and Procedures Manual.

i am guessing that they were going more then 140 kmph because i was on a train and the train travels at around 100kmph-110kmph and they were travelling quite fast passing the train

from memory the train travels at 90-100 depend on where it is, normally around 90kms. If they were on Priority 2 then they would have being going 120 max so yes they would pass the train easily.

They can travel that fast but generally they dont, im not trying to argue the point of speed. At the end of the day the Police take due care and like any other human being they make mistakes, except there mistakes can cost them allot more than a fine.

I believe police constantly go over their 140km limit. Who wouldnt!? Isn't it funny when ever they are calling a chase its like "speed 130, traffic nil".

But you cant blame them, It would be so frustrating being on the tail of some car thief and then being told to stop.

Mate its not worth your job if you get caught, it would be pretty rare they go over 140 unless its a bad pursuit.

To me all pusuits are bad...These people stealing cars or just running from police don't do it for a "joy ride"

The vehicle is used as a tool or weapon to facilitate crime whether it be runnings drugs, burglary, robbery etc.

140km/h is not fast by all means...and a majority of pursuits go over 140, but these officers chasing them are smarter than people think and still manage to apprehend them, by staying within the police and road traffic act rules. You won't lose your job if you know what you are doing!!!

My 2 cents
