Anyone watch the CH7 news exclusive? My recording:

I think its great they are finally making it harder for crims, interesting that the chase with no headlights wasn't aborted there already...
Although like many people here I don't think people like the V8's option?

It is not the V8 that is the problem. It is the transmission. Bring back manual V8's and you dont have to worry about the car making it's mind up about what gear it wants to be in and the cars handling characteristics changing from slight oversteer to massive understeer or the rear end breaking out as it changes back 2 or three gears when the driver is accelerating out of a corner unexpectantly.

Personally (and haven never driven fast cars) I would think a V8 isn't going to improve your chances of catching someone if you can only get up to a certain speed to pursue. A more nimble car like the WRX in AWD would be better suited I would think but not a big chunky V8.
Black cars = MIG's, Major Incident Group.

That was a line trundled out when we had V8's. Personally I think it is just an excuse by those that cannot drive. With the VT Gen III with 15 inch steelies you knew it was coming so you dealt with it.
Does not apply to the current Fords or Commodore V8's with ESP, traction, six speed transmissions and 17 inch wheels. Completely different cars. As to the requirement for a V8 that is another story plus that info was added by ch.7 to the story to add some meat. As readers would know a WRX has already been involed in a number of pursuits the last couple of months.
As to the "ancient" car, that was T338 chasing a stolen Mitsubishi down the Freeway

About time it gets revamped. Sooner the better.
Now how about a VCU to target these thieving farks.
