Yes that destinctive sound of the Kawasaki Polair 61 will be missed.
Hope they get some choppers like in the movie Blue Thunder :)

I remember seeing 61 fly over my house whilst searching for someone, i went out back to check it out and she shined her bright Spottys on me :P
Sadly missed but yeah i agree she has served her time.

hey polair 61 fans,

they should replace polair 61 the bk117 b2 with an EC145 helicopter
it would make perth the second state in australia to have one.


the EC145 is a new version of the bk117 its more stable and has more power

here is an example of what it look likes

or maybe a MD hughes 500e helicopter there a nice fast little helicopter at half the power of the EC145 there more cheaper to run

So the Police Chopper is up and about again.... There's a hugh pic of it landing here yestie to look for that plane crash.

Interesting that they send up Polair 61 and not rescue 65. A bit of politics there still I think :wink:

Yes I reside in Victoria.
But I have family in WA (Gosnells, Huntingdale, Margaret River & Australind).
Also family in most other parts of Australia.
