No not always, with heavy attendance events and jobs they can and will switch to another digital talk group. what happen if GD is in city bit not doing operation, but see sumthing and need back up and the only closest unit would be operation officer, coz u go onto the channel and transmit?

VKI would have to arrange backup. Unless op's unit's radio's were logged on GD talkgroup.
