When Police (metro) could be listened to it was being updated fairly regularly, well a few other copies got started up as the wheel was reinvented. However now I think for many it's habit to provide an up todate look of the cars. In due course country area's will be switched to digital. Some districts have also changed a bit and so car callsigns have changed. A bit hard to keep a track of really.

I noted that there seemed to be a lot of vehicles with the UQ1.. callsign in Kalgoorlie over the weekend.
Can anyone elaborate on this callsign ?

UQ1xx is the ROG Regional Operations Group. They tend to pop up anywhere they are required so maybe some sort of operation.

I gather that it must have been something like that.
There did seem to be a number of them around, almost doing / assisting with GD work, but they were obviously not locals, since they knew very little about the geography of Kalgoorlie.

That's not on the old pdf, and doesn't seem to be assigned to Police at all?
The
Swan Brewery seems to be the closest in the metro area, and BP an in Malaga oh dear there are a few random ones actually, all low power.
Seems it would be more where you are located.

1006 is the South East Metro TalkGroup Main Operational Channel, 2006 is the South East Metro Special Operation Talkgroup Channel and 3006 is the South East Metro Car to Car chat channel.

The radio is fairly quiet these days due to TADIS. Mainly calls of "VKI please send me job number XXXXX ..." but occasionally a P2 job will come through via voice or a chase will happen. Most specialist groups (Airwing, Water Police, Dogs, TEG, TRG, Organised Crime etc) have their own channels and if your radio isn't supposed to receive the audio when you go to that channel you get a "KEY FAIL" message meaning your radio is locked out of that channel. Keeps members on a "needs to know basis". The only channels open to everyone are the main area channels (e.g. Peel, SE Metro, NW Metro, Central etc).

I take it you work for someone that has access to a digital Police radio since its encrypted, even the main channels?

Does anyone know where the callsign FJ is from? I saw a FJ104 sedan the other day, guessing it's somewhere around Mullewa and Kalbarri.
