Post by Lucas_arts_182 »

There was talk about polair61 beeing grounded for servicing and during that pursuite through joondalup CBD (where the 12yo girl stole a 4x4) VKI called for polair 62 wich got me confused ive always believed polair 61 ran the show , with a few fixed wing aircraft on the side , whats the deal with this one?

MMW is right on the money.

I've seen Polair 62 up close and had a chat to the pilots on numerous times - as the hangar is right next door to my flight school.

You'll be suprised -lets just say - that Polair 62 is in the air more times than Polair 61 could ever dream about. Although in the air during this time - they don't communicate with VKI on many occaisions as their role is Recon - Flying over "certain spots" - (trouble spots) - and do a great job relaying info via other means

So as MMW said... Polair 62 is and always will be the fixed wing they refer to (Cessna 182 R) - and Polair 61 - is self explanitory

Luke is this what you meant to say??:

Polair 62 wasn't originally police. I heard they took it off a gang. Anyone know where the plane is from, and how they got it? I'm pretty sure they confiscated it?

My Answer: I'd be surprised if it was a confiscated aircraft, but stranger things have happened.

Polair 61 - Helicopter
Polair 62 - Small Fixed Wing (Cessna 182)
Polair 63 - Large Fixed Wing (Pilatus? P12)

All clearly marked as WAPol aircraft. End of story.
