Trouble, trouble, trouble today...
I have never seen so many Police at Subiaco Oval before...

West Coast Eagles whooping Carltons ass today, and as you can imagine the Carlton supporters got a little pissed off and made a scene...being out numbered one to a thousand....

Then the Police went to the "Carlton gang" were around 500 were sitting with one another and told them to shuttup, as everyone was going off at each other (this was on the city side on the 2nd Tier stand)...

Then one Carlton supporter got up with his flag waving it around and yelled "Fuck You Eagles" and then the Police officer just tackled him (would be a good AFL player hehe) and then hell broke loose, another 20 or so officers went up and took that guy, whilst calming the crowd...

Poor bloody sports...but oh well...

Also, there was about 5 people who collapsed/fainted (SJA and WAPOL assisted) and 3 injuries (slip due to wet surfaces), were one person dislocated her ancle and was trapped, she tried stepping over the chair, slipped and it clamped in on her, and she fell onto it, OUCH! silly girl, but hope everyone is well and recover :)

Cheers

I was there, and it's wasnt that bad (Police) had things well in hand.... - we did have our fair few casualties, but the rain certainly created a hazard for people using the stairs...

And for the television coverage. A few bits of our gear didn't like all that water  . I was lucky enough to be on a dry camera up on the camera deck, unlike 7 of my colleagues who were drenched :( .

We put up a few shots of the cops up with the Blues supporters and it didn't look too chaotic.

Mr G, with 40,000 plus people, lots of alcohol, and driving rain it's a wonder you didn't have many more/serious incidents :)

Geez i feel for you guys - Not sure if you heard - but there was a lightning strike not far from the oval - and there was an almighty rumble??? - before the rain started?? - It was a decent soaking thats for sure.... - But think the crowd was fairly well behaved, and took care considering the slippery conditions....

Maybe Auntys Eyes knows this one... - AE - Does MatchCom still manage the umpire vests? Is it between 742-766 MHz? I imagine you need to use the WIDE band function to receive it too.

Im an eagles member and in all the times i have tried i have never heard the Umpires mics when scanning although my scanner doesnt do WFM so that may be the answer. The rest makes for some interesting listening though with all the TV , WAPOL , security and all the other services that are there.

Yes they do. Met the MatchCom guys at the derby last Sunday. They set themselves up in the TV Commentary box. Unfortunately didn't get a chance to get the umpire mic frequencies :(
