Rotto Police

Post by Tom »

Planning a trip with the Missus over to Rotto this w/end and I'll no doubt take my camera with me.

Does anyone have any info on the Rottnest Police vehicles? I recall seeing a 4WD Rodeo cage last time I was there and from memory it was VX101.

Is this the only WAPOL car on the island??

Any info appreciated.

rgds

Do they have a link to VKI (eg, a repeater?) or do they just use telephones for when they need contact with the mainland and simplex for island operations?

I'm curious now.

Wish it was me going to rotto, I really could do with a break!

They have a channel 7 VKI repeater on the Island. It's usually/always linked into the Freo district.

Never saw VX101 whilst I was over there, but saw VX102 is a 4WD Mazda Bravo. It's pretty old 1[deleted]. It still has the old dome lights on the roof.

I'd love to know what VX101 is.

I'm good friends with a chap who used to be a ranger over there and he tells me they used to have a Ford Falcon paddy wagon over there!

cheers

Again, a reminder. Police vehicle registration numbers are not appropriate to post on a public forum. THINK people!

Dear Admin,

What's the problem in posting rego's of MARKED vehicles????

I'd understand if the vehicle was unmarked but VX102 is fully marked.

But my point is, do you really need to post rego numbers at all? What does it add to the conversation?

Went over to Rotto yesterday on a boat with some mates and I can confirm they have 2 WAPOL vehicles on the Island.

Finally saw VX101 parked near the Police Station which is a 2004 vintage Holden Rodeo 4WD.

Posted pics on oz_pol for those interested.

cheers

I was over there for work earlier in the year and they were both 4-5 year old Colorados, so as you say the Hilux's must be quite recent.
