Priority 1 Vs Priority 2

It may be obvious but im missing it...
Can anyone explain the difference between WAPol's Priorty 1 and Priority 2? Is it simply the nature of the job (hence job code)? Or is there a difference between the police vehicles and the way they are driven (lights / sirens) ?
Also can any vehicle type be issued Priority 1 ? E.g: SV6, Holden Rodeo ?

I think this was discussed somewhere before i think P2 there is a limit how fast they can go and P1 there isnt or there is a max limit as they can go, i might be wrong but thats what my understanding was.

P2 is only 15km over the normal speeed limit on wat ever street and P1 is 25kms over the speed limit.
WAPOL used to hav system where it was CAT. a or B OR C
A was max
B was 15kms
C was lights and siren but normal speed oR only lights siren through T.C

Don't worry rambler... most people have a 'signature' that can be changed in their Profile. When it's changed the current signature appears on all of that persons posts. A person earlier in this thread keeps changing their signature, and that is what Bobby and Always are refering to.

oh and nightnewz/hm681 you couldn't be more wrong in your guesses if you tried. Yes it used to be Cat A, B, C a few years ago. There was no speed cap on any it was just used to determine the type of job, ie Cat B was the UDD designation for a pursuit. Cat C had "stop" sign and red tcl requirement towards the end but that was about it.

Over the years there has been a number of different formats with regard to Category A, B, C,
I remember when there was a fourth one "The Special Category" which in an extreme emergency could be applied and used by any vehicle owned or operated by the Police Service.
One such occasion that comes to mind was when a traffic cop working south of the river on channel 8 followed a car across the Swan River on the Tonkin highway and was shot by the driver of the car he was following on the Guildford Rd off ramp.
Both the Maylands and Bayswater vans were issued with the Special Category to get to the scene.
Going back even further to the old job codes when a 102 was a break and enter I can remember VKI giving out 102 "C" 's which meant the vehcile attended under normal road conditions (no lights no sirens).
Speaking of old job codes here's one that VKI didn't know about until early one morning.
Picks a callsign from that era
"Tango 98 VKI" "VKI Tango 98 Go" Tango 98 going back to the office with a 408" VKI responds with "A 408 whats a 408"? to which Tango 98 responds "He's twice as pissed as your average 204 VKI"..
There were laughs all round
