POLICE fear a desperate armed robber who has robbed a supermarket and three McDonalds stores will kill unless he is caught.
The man threatened staff with a pistol at three McDonald's outlets and an IGA supermarket during the 10-hour spree.
He held the gun to a teenage employee's head during one of the raids.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Fife said the robber was clearly dangerous.
"In my opinion, this man is extremely desperate,'' he said.
"What is unusual in this case is that one person has committed four offences in 10 hours.
"He will continue until we catch him or someone gets hurt.''
The spree began yesterday at about 1pm in an East Victoria Park IGA store where the robber grabbed money from a till after demanding the female checkout operator open it.
At 6.30pm the same man held up a McDonald's outlet in Success, in Perth's southern suburbs.
Police say he sat at a table until customers had left the restaurant before demanding cash and threatening staff with the gun.
At 8.00pm, he entered McDonald's in North Perth on Scarborough Beach Road and again threatened staff with a handgun before being given cash.
He struck again 9.45pm at the Currambine outlet and was given money from the tills.
Police say the robber was not satisfied with the amount and held the gun to a teenage staff member's while demanding cash from the safe.
The manager was unable to override the time lock and offered money from the drive-through till which was placed in a bag.
"The majority of staff are between 15 and 17 years old,'' Det Snr-Sgt Fife aid.
"It was terrifying for these kids.''
So yeah guys, be careful when your out and about ... -
Cheers
