CADCOM

Post by numloxx »

G'day all,

Can anyone explain to me how CADCOM works? Any photos, and is it 100% operational nowdays? I hear units asking for jobs to be sent their way, and logging onto and off of CADCOM.

Cheers

Whilst not being picky CADCOM died in the water about 5 years ago. Check out the sticky on changeover to digital radio and TADIS.

With respect Chev I would dispute your comment that Cadcom died 5 years ago.

Only one facet of Cad died. Every Police Station in the metro area uses Cadlite while VKI and I think (not sure about this) the PAC use Cad Premium.

I would back my comment up with, when a vehicle (certainly the bikes) book on from home they say, "Can you put me on Cad please".

I was told that CAD stood for Computer Aided Despatch.

I often hear vehicles asking VKI to book them on or off CAD.

CADCOM = BAE system

CAD/TADIS/PMRN = Motorola

Guys just a quick question.
With daylights saving ending tonight and the clocks being turned back an hour.
What happens with units booking clear of a job during the hour we gain ?

I dunno if the Police system works this way, but the time change is quite clear.
WDST: Western Daylight Savings Time - WST: Western Standard Time
00:00AM WDST
00:30AM WDST
01:00AM WDST
01:30AM WDST
02:00AM WDST -> 01:00AM WST
01:30AM WST
02:00AM WST
02:30AM WST

Except the change occured at 0300, so that it went back to 0200. just like when the daylight savings started at 0200 skipped to 0300. :) But that's just me being perdantic.
