Priority 3s and 4s.

Post by dazla »

One of my close mates is a civvie radio op/call taker in VKI (police Ops) and he explained the new code system. As the WA Police were getting a bad rep for not responding to jobs within a specified time they allowed more jobs to be priority 4s.

For example '28' means disturbance and it can be a 228 (lights and sirens) 328 (within 30 mins) and a 428 (whenever we bloody get there).

This has made their response to urgent job better because it seems that there are less of them but they are simply classing them as priority 4s when there is no immediate threat to life.

Hope this helps.

Makes it a lot easier to listen too as well eg:

Priority 4 - dont bother
Priority 3 - pay a bit more attention
Priority 2 - something interesting
Priority 1 - "good" shit
