Guys, I'm trying to find some photos of the old Aerospatiel Twin Squirrel and the BK117.

Oh, if you've got any of the RAC rescue choppers, that'd be great to.

Cheers.

From reliable source - Polair 1 crashed in Kelmscott on 8 May 1992 whilst attempting to land for a public display.....

Here is the Bureau of Air Safety Investigation accident report, which includes a photo of the helicopter (when it was burning):

http://www.atsb.gov.au/publications/inv ... 40_001.pdf

Incidentally, later the tailboom of VH-NJL was recovered and was seen in he WA Police hangar at Jandakot, sticking out from the wall, near the roof.

I may have some photos somewhere of the helo before the accident, and I may also have a photo of the tailboom in their hangar, but will have to check later

Aerospatiale AS355F1 VH-NJL

Cheers G,

some useless information for you, the rego of the Squirrel VH-NJL is the initials of the Senior Sergent who was the OIC of POLAIR Base, Noel J Lawrence.

Cheers for the photos and the link.

I remember that day all to well :(

Bless her soul, she was a great chopper.

MrG,

I saw your posting on Jetspotter, you should a least give the person some credit or the forum who provided you with those facts and references in the first place.

VH-NJL is a QANTAS Link BAe146-300 now.
