I've been to previous open days at both Maylands and Joondalup academies and they are a good way of spending an couple of hours.

I remember the TRG's mock assault on a "house" at Maylands, that was a bit of fun, they had the "little tank" there

And the scenario village at Joondalup is pretty cool too, got to have a walk through there.

If you're not sure if it's worth going, I'd say make the effort and you won't be disappointed. The Joondalup academy is walking distance (just over a kilometre) from the train station, so there's no excuse

Sorry to bring up an old thread......didn't want to start a new one

I believe it's on again this year....24th Feb 2007. Will post times when known....might be an arvo/evening event due to daylight saving.
