New police bikes

Post by Turbo »

3 police officers just went past me on the freeway wearing bright orange vests.

They looked like they were trialling a new style of motorbike

Didn't get a good look at the model of bike but channel 7 was driving alongside them so I'm guessing we will find out soon.

Police ride undercover to nab road offenders
WA Police will roll out a new squad of “undercover” motorcycles as a permanent traffic enforcement measure to snare unsuspecting, errant drivers.

The force plans to spend $650,000 on the fleet of Yamaha and Honda motorcycles, which will have surreptitious emergency LED lights and sirens that can only be noticed when activated.

I saw one of these bikes this morning in Bentley, he was stopped right at the front of the lights and you could see him moving his head around the place trying to see if anyone was on their phones.

Good to see them out and about, a few more would be nice!

I see the bike team on the road nearly every day(from 6am to past 7pm at night), looks like they are running 2 x cameras on some of the bikes.
