police channel 26

police channel 26

just wondering if anyone else when they are listening to the police and they say go to ch 26 to chat,usually between two police cars,but when you retune in to ch 26 (468.475) and you hear nothing,i have noticed this over the past week or so,any answers?

more likely the channel you were on was a repeater. but im not sure wait for one of the smart ones to answer ;)

Ch26 is on a metro wide repeater system. Someone in Joondalup can talk to someone in Rockingham or Mandurah.

Well... I wouldn't call it a system. Channel 26 is just a well-situated repeater in West Perth that can be accessed through most of Perth. In Freo they use Channel 23.
