SAS from Swanbourne Barracks... They assisted in todays search due to the area being adjacent to the barracks...

Isn't it illegal to publish photos of or identify SAS soldiers?

Yes they probably would be. But it makes you wonder about those in the lower ranks who were criticising the commanding officer yesterday for aborting the pursuit then some of their own letting him escape. I believe it was a good result that the public wasn't injured by that fruitcake and if the decision to abort led to that then it was the right call. The public's safety is number one and it would have been a tough call. If he had of been killed in the pursuit then there would have been outrage that it should have been aborted.

Probably, but it seems the paper media tend to run by a very different set of rules :smt081

More likely to be other support staff from the barracks. The boys wouldn't have let them take photo's of them and if the photo's were published there would be serious issues.

While Milpol don't HAVE to wear them, uniform is cammo's with scarlet beret.

good question, I think junior or senior they'd be a bit embarrased and unlikely to make the same mistake again!

CH7 News reported and showed 'footage' of the two officers who were in charge of the prisoner at the time. The footage depicted two constables talking to forensic officers. Then showed footage of GSXXX being looked over by forensics. CH7 then reported that two junior officers were in charge of the prisoner at the time of the escape. Whether they were probationary officers or not was not mentioned. I used 'probies' as an endearment to the younger officers.

Ex information from a Police Officer near by a bus stop I was waiting at, it appears to have been a suicide.

Absolute traffic grid-lock in the city for all west bound traffic of Adelaide Tce, St.Georges Tce and surrounding roads... Took us an hour and fifty minutes to get a bus...

w_f... 1, a person can commit suicide by stabbing themselves and 2, an item would be bagged in evidence prior to being removed from the scene.

The media outlook that was to use my pictures of the incident earlier today has informed me that it was a suicide. I originally was told otherwise - sad news though.
