Cheers CC, last time I saw it it just had the markings.

I've posted pics on oz_pol which you've probably seen.

I'm guessing this was previously a plain car which has been marked up? All the markings look brand new for a car which is a couple of years old.

It could do with 4 new Bridgestone Turanzas tho', a bit light on.

Great bunch of blokes at the Airwing, even got taken out onto the tarmac and got a close-up of the copper.

If anyone isn't a member of the yahoo group and wants to see the pics, PM your email address and i'll send them in a group email late tonight.

Thats correct Tom. The vehicle used to be unmarked and usually parked in the OIC's spot outside the Airwing's Office. Has only been 'marked up' for a short period of time.

Re: the tyres. It looks better than it did as previously it had no hubcaps - just the pursuit rims and dust caps - front wheels covered in brake dust which was caked on!

The guys are always very accommodating of the public. You ask you get, you don't ask you don't get :D

The Commodores look a lot better in my opinion without the hub-caps.

Now it's a marked car they might as well just rip them off!

CC, is their a TF101?

I didn't see a OIC's vehicle yesterday although I did see the Inspector.

8 crims and 5 coppers Damo.

1 of these Merc 'brawler vans' equals about 4 Holden Crewman's in cost!!

Did you happen to catch the call-signs, looked like **203??

cheers

I would imagine that they would be attached to ROG so probably a UQ callsign.

Only my assumption.

Yep UQ303 and 304.

They are allocated to Perth Watch House (EPLU), along with UQ301 and 302.

They look nice in the pics.

AZ704 / ?Z70x

Post by Bonez »

Hi guys

I quite often listen to Channel 48 (North Metro) and always seem to hear a couple of vehicles with callsigns similar to something like:

AZ704 or Something(?) Zulu 70x

They always sound like they are over driving the microphones something chronic, almost distorting or very noisy in the background.

I always seem to hear them saying "I'm on the way home, can you please take me off CAD" - but I have never heard them be tasked to a job by VKI.

I know it's probably a silly question, but if someone could tell me what the vehicles actually are/do that would be great :)

Cheers

AZ700 series are the Mirrabooka traffic bikes, hence the reason its sounds like a microphone because you have the wind and its inside there helmet.

These officers are allowled to take there bikes home, so they get booked onto cad on the way into work and are taken off on the way home.

They dont do jobs, they just sorta just cruise around and deal with traffic problems

AZ704 would be a bike, hence the loud backgroud noise of the air rushing past his helmet :)

And I beleive they take the vehicle home with them, so once there off at home they ask to be taken off the system for the day :)
