I've never thought that intersection was so bad - there's pretty good visibility in all directions, good lighting, easily seen traffic signals.

What is it that you don't like about the intersection?

My own thoughts are - it doesn't matter how well constructed the intersection may be - an idiot on bald tyres is still going to cause mayhem :)

Mind you, I haven't been through it for about 6 months, but what-ever's wrong with it causes it to seriously choke up on Tonkin. I remember sitting through many light changes when I used to come home that way. Also, any road that splits from two to three lanes just before an intersection and then merges back to two again just after, sucks by default. They cause dipshits to race everyone to gain that extra couple of metres, often in the left lane. My wife's been cut off their many times. (Always seems to be a late model Commode or Falcon)

The design is good - 3 lanes of traffic means more traffic through the lights and less waiting. Fastens up cycle times.

Till you have 3 trying to merge into 2 very quickly, causing a bottleneck...look at the intersection outside the Guildford Hotel for a smaller version but great example of screw up!

Its the same outside the rockingham train station. its a shocker. And also where you turn in council ave from ennis ave is a problem. many accidents have been caused by people doing the right thing and waiting for the line to change from a solid white line to a broken white line of the turning lane, only to have people who have already crossed it flying up behind them. SHOCKING

All of these issues relate to how the road is used. It is designed to improve traffic flow, minimising waiting time at lights and it achieves this. I prefer to be mobile rather than waiting for multiple light changes.

The thing is though, there isn't a need to go into 4 lanes to begin with man?

4 lanes forward, 2 turning lanes, and then down to 2 lanes ?

Why though haha
