Since the aircraft only carries so much fuel, and most likely isn't fully fueled to start with you can't be up there forever. Plus the flight time to return to base.

And if they only have 30min of fuel left, and a job comes in that they have to track something, 20min into it even if the job is still active back to base they go...

Yeah I have noticed that too lately - I reckon they have hired another small chopper. Anyone know...?

Just for the record, all aircraft must have full fuel tanks or more than enough for a single flight.

I'd imagine, and from the chat I've had with Polair 62 pilots that their aircraft are always fully refuelled before going up. I can track down Polair61's range if you want.. and what they have on "reserve"....

You need to have 45 Minutes reserved in your tank when allowing for the flight (so most times unless you hit severe weather you should land with that 4 minutes reserve)

End result of that pursuit after going around in giant circles was him crashing and getting nicked.

Polair61 is most likely in a rental, sounds a lot different etc.
