the officers were at the North Midlands Agriculture Show on September 15 of last year when the organisers invited the officer, a trained high-pursuit driver, to show participants in a burn-out competition how to perform the dangerous stunt.

I can't believe he was stood down over this.

Clearly no laws were broken. Bad judgment maybe, worthy of a slap on the wrists. An official warning even.

Now we have one less police officer on the streets.

AFAIK this is standard procedure while an investigation is taking place.

Fingers crossed they let the media die down the put him back out on the job. I don't suppose we should show the police car doing a burnout in a garage shop video shall we? :smt104

Leave him alone..... lol , but siriously it wasnt like he just started smoking it up on the road , people say its hipicritical of him but hes a P.P. driver , it was a comp. and it was private property that it took place , its not like hes your average hoon the has a little smoke show outside maccas on a friday night and puts other people in danger..... if only metro cops were like country cops , metro cops need to lighten the f**k up
any way , my opinion , harmless fun :)

I certainly hope he doesn't lose his job over someone posting it on YouTube. It would've been all in community spirit at the time, now his job is on the line. Poor bugger :(

Channel 7 news was a disgrace with this story tonight.

The only person that spoke any sense in that story was the CEO of the town where the event was held.

If this copper gets sacked, then it will have massive ramifications for community events.

Hey, I saw a copper drive Tango 1 at high speeds down a 400m track Channel 7. Can you do a story about that. No because it's on private property with safety precautions.......hang on......no difference to this one.

Isn't Tango 1 owned privately as well? I agree with your thoughts Walks but Tango 1 on a drag strip with many many more safety people is slightly different, but as it is a copper in that as well I do see the theory.
