Motorola nabs $28m WA Police deal

MOTOROLA has signed a $28 million digital radio agreement with WA Police which will allow secure voice and data communication for police around metropolitan areas for the first time.

I predict scanners will suddenly become a lot cheaper on the second hand market when that comes in... :-)

I don't think there was ever any doubt that Motorola would get this contract. They're really the only vendor large enough that can offer a 'complete solution' to the WA Police.
