If it's in range and switched on, just reprogram it to die - all over the air.

Yes it can be disabled and reenabled if found at a later date. They also have a button that clears the codes on the radio's so if an officer gets into difficulty it can made useless. If the radio's are dismantled in an attempt to reverse engineer they are also automatically cleared and the radio made useless.

I talked to some detectives from Perth today. We deal with police through our line of work every couple of weeks. Basically as someone stated West Metro is already converted (Scarbourough and suburbs around there) to digital. Around 70% of cars now have tardis installed. Told them about this place didn't mention any names will do that tommorow morning when I see them again tommorow. Might have some new faces. They are top blokes

Ive heard one of the freo vans get there jobs on tardis..i dont think its that bad they still dish out most of the details before getting the job.

I don't think it will be audio stream, more like a web based interface mimic of CAD with delay.
