No that was his boss.Andre.I know him quite well.It was him that got the footage.I heard this on the scanner last night but didn't think it was that serious.Until I saw it on the news tonight.I hope they lock them up and throw away the key.

I really do hope the court makes an example of these idiots and lock them up, and lets hope they catch the rest and get them of the streets of perth.

While the courts etc place more emphasis on reasons why a person shouldn't be accountable for their actions, and while the concept of punishment for doing wrong isn't recognised highly enough, this sort of thing will happen and continue to happen because the people involved know they can get away with it...

there was good CCTV footage shown on the news,

All the vision was from the News@Night crew.

There was another big brawl opposite the Paramount (no suprises).
Later around 3:30am.

This was between Africans & Ozies with bottles being thrown.
Unfortunately the fighting ened before the camera was running.

I also witness an ausie getting king hit earlier in the night on Lake st.
This was unprovoked, the "local" boys just punched him as he passed.
Lucky for him he landed ok & they did not put in the boot while he was
down on the gound.

Perth is getting bad but I fear it will get worse to much agro in the air.

The fight between the africans and ozzies was caught on CCTV footage. It went on for about 20 mins apparently, I was having a chat with the female coppa that was working the camera room that nite and she said that there was no cars available and the fight kept going. They may get an arrest or two from the footage as the cameras are very good quality.

Back to the initial incident, you know your in trouble if an Aboriginal asks you for a cigarette. That is what we always get told they ask just before they mug you. Northbridge is getting as bad as Kings Cross used to be ten or so years ago.

Just because an aboriginal ask you for a cigarette does not mean they are going to mug you. They may generally need a cigarette. Yes there are some people not just aboriginals who ask for a cigarette with the intent of mugging you but from what I have seen and heard this happens very rarley. We have only heard part of the story yes the fight may have started over asking for a cigarette but what we dont know is how the person responded back to the person who asked. That does not make any excuse for the people involved but I know if I wasked for something and spoken to like shit by the person I had asked I would possibly be pissed of at that person for speaking to me rudely and possily end up in a fight.

All I can say everytime I have been asked for a cigarette in the city I have politely said "no as I am a non smoker I am sorry I wish I could help you out. I hope you have some luck getting one" Alot seem suprised at how well I have spoken to them and evrytime I go in the cityI make sure I say heelo to them and sometimes If I havent seen them they say hello to me.

I agree with you 110 percent Donga - back to the incident at hand, i heard on the news that when asked for a cigarette the victim of the initial assault shoved the person away, and then was attacked.

I'm also scratching my head and trying to figure out what possible contribution you are trying to make to this thread jmmw. I could sit here and list off the times I've been racially targeted or have had 'unpleasant' run ins with whites, black, Asians, Indians etc. I wont though because it accomplishes nothing and adds nothing useful to the discussion.

I'm not trying to pick on you, just thought it was unnecessary.

Froggles I think jmmw reply has resulted from TheDocs post about aboriginals asking for smokes then mugging you. I think he is supporting what the doc has said by giving an example.
