or you could be thinking of the trigger safety, 1 of the 3 mentioned earlier. if your finger isnt on the trigger properly it wont fire.

That's not the same version of Glock that's in use in Western Australia, but yeah I suppose you can get the idea from it regarding the trigger safety.
The trigger safety is designed to allow the firearm to only be fired when the trigger's squeezed. It means the trigger won't go off when the gun's dropped or pressed from the side by an object.
