Why does the capacitor allow AC and blocks DC

Well the theory looks good on paper. It would act a bit different if it was 1.21 jiggawatts.

And I always thought that it was coz the capacitor was "current-ist" (that's like sexist, racist, etc but discriminates on the type of current that approaches it )
