Not sure if anyone is following Bathurst 1000 on Channel 7 - but a dangerous crash invovling car 17 - then spilt fuel ignited spontaneously into a wall of fire... Great job by the fire marshalls though for a job well done protecting the driver! Kudos to them.!

Yeah, saw that. Did anyone catch a glimpse of what the first marshall that went for the left rear side used? It didn't look like powder.

blue is foam red powder and silver is coldfire

From memory the Australian & New Zealand standards for portable fire extinguishers are:
All red or polished stainless steel: water
Red with a black band: Carbon dioxide
Red with a blue band: Foam
Red with a white band: Dry powder
Red with a yellow band: Vaporising liquid
Red with a oatmeal band: Wet powder

as is the case for day to day BUT what i said it what the fire marshals use

So probably not CO2. That site had a lot more info on it than the US one I looked at earlier. Still the MSDS had the ingredients are 'trade secret'.

it is incredible stuff and the best thing about it is that you can squirt it straight onto a hot engine and it wont crack or wreck it is really good stuff
