I'm miffed. Took the weekend off so I could go down south with my fiance. We got half way up Roelands hill and the clutch cooked off in the "new" 2nd hand car. Now I'm stuck back home for a long weekend and I've got a clutch to replace.

So can we assume that March 14th 2015 will be Pi to 5 significant figures day?robbage wrote:Really only in the USA where it is 3-14spartacus wrote:Happy World Pi Day

And what about the 22nd July? Can that be a rough approximation of Pi day?
Like the US President, I like Pi, and Pie.
In other news, saw one of the older Mazda pumpers parked up outside FESA in Picton/Halifax down in Bunbury. Is this being retired?

Re: Off-Topic thread for the Off-Topic forum
FYI, pi is about 3.1415926535,
apparently, it's on the 3/14 (American dates) at 1.59

22nd July would be the exact value of Pi day, where 14/3 is the approximation.dlcat1 wrote:So can we assume that March 14th 2015 will be Pi to 5 significant figures day?robbage wrote:Really only in the USA where it is 3-14spartacus wrote:Happy World Pi Day

this site
http://www.angio.net/pi/piquery
has pi to 4.2 billion places, it's also go a searcher, so try a string of numbers and see where they pop up. (Birthday? Lotto Numbers kindly picked by Tyranus etc. etc.)
utterly useless but somebody may just want to...
