He is not the 1000th member but 1000th registered username. I had created about 6 or 7 when I lost my password and put the wrong email address to try and sort it out but kept getting the barred for some reason. Jasonjag has at least three previous user names too.

Well since we don't know about people having previous usernames unless we go digging in the Admin Control Panel, I think it's a fair comment to make that he was the "1000th member".
